The piFLOW®i from Piab is a conveyor, widely used in the general industry and sometimes in the chemical industry. It has a high throughput performance as well as a small footprint. A vertical agitated media mill is used for grinding ultrafine particles, in an agitated (or stirred) grinding media action, such as mineral fillers, glazing raw materials and non-mineral hard materials. It comprises a cylindrical grinding chamber that is filled with grinding beads of a few millimeters in diameter.

The ATR vertical agitated media mill from Hosokawa Alpine is a vertical agitated media mill that comprises a cylindrical grinding chamber, with a double-walled mill housing to permit water cooling, that is filled with grinding beads of a few millimeters in diameter.

Because of the small grinding beads, the particle size of the feed material should not exceed 100 µm. The agitator shaft with its arms dips into the bed of material and grinding beads and is set into slow rotation by a gear unit connected to a motor.

Vertical agitated dry media mill

Milling machines are used to reduce the size of material by cutting, crushing, or grinding it. The choice of industrial milling equipment depends on the industry and the materials to work with. Besides, there is a significant difference between those aimed to remove layers from metal or other materials workpieces and those designed to reduce particle size for materials that come in bulk.

Industrial dehumidification involves the process of removing moisture as well as controlling humidity. Toppy V-shape is a stationary pallet exchanger built with a unique, strong V shape frame. It is manufactured in painted steel, and with a full stainless steel model also available. All moving parts are operated by hydraulic and electrical systems. The pallet to be replaced is loaded onto a lower platform at floor level by either an electric pallet jack or forklift.

At the start of cycle, a pallet latch secures the pallet to the platform and the upper compactor plate moves down until a sensor detects the top of the load. In this position the plate provides a gentle support to the load. The load, secured by the V-shape frame, is then lifted and rotated backwards. When the load is in the tilted position, the lower platform moves back to the floor and the pallet is released. The operator can quickly and easily replace the pallet at floor level. With the new pallet, the load is returned to floor level and removed.

<h2>Exchange fully loaded pallets without inverting or turning the loads</h2>
Non-tilting pallet changers or Toppy four finger will work with EPAL pallets (800 x 1200 mm) or industrial pallets (1000 x 1200 mm). The pallets used for this system are required to meet all EC rules and regulations.

The palletized load is placed onto the lift platform from the side, either through a conveyor system or forklift. Once the pallet is placed onto the platform, four forks (fingers) are inserted automatically through the open slots of the pallet under the material load. Two rubber side plates gently close to help stabilize the load and reduce the weight that the forks need to support. The pressure of the plates adjusts automatically and does not damage the load. The pallet is lowered, allowing the forks and plates to support the load. Either using a forklift or a conveyor system, the pallet is removed and replaced. The new pallet on the lift platform is then introduced under the load and the forks are removed.

Non-tilting pallet changer

When you need to transfer load from one pallet to another without tilting or turning, then selecting the in-line pallet changer will not be inadequate. This stationary pallet changer functions by using the combined forces of the side press and back pushed.


<h2>The pusher system for pallet changing and handling</h2>

With two-way translational movement, the shifting of products is enabled from coarse wood pallets to production-friendly, sterilized plastic pallets. To support the load on two sides, two rubber side compactors close and then sustain the load. This line of presses uses the proven technology of Amandus Kahl’s larger sized presses in a scale more appropriate to the smaller production volumes. The presses use pan grinder rollers to compact the input material and force it through a flat pelletizing die forming continuous strands of compacted product. The strands are then cut to the desired length using rotating knives.

The pan grinder rollers and knives rotate slowly ensuring optimum pellet quality and minimized generation of noise and heat. The grinder roller speed is infinitely adjustable. The grinder roller gap and strand cutter are also adjustable for optimized pellet quality for your particular needs.

The flat die design ensures even distribution of feed material and optimized pressure in a more compact package than traditional ring die type presses. Pellet dies are readily changeable without specialized tools for easy experimentation and process development aiding the customer in developing a process that is optimized for their product. Amandus Kahl variable speed proportioning screw is often used in conjunction with these units to ensure consistent and uniform feeding of raw materials.

Compaction machines and technologies crush or compress materials and make them denser. Compaction can be used to simply save space or to shape materials into a desired form or format. Tablets, pellets, or briquets are formed by compactors but powder presses also help form cosmetic eyeshadow or face powder.

Compaction

Grinders use a spinning blade or rotating abrasive elements to reduce the size of various materials. The specifications, RPM and grit of the engineered grinder, will result in various particle sizes. As a result, what you want to make will determine the type of grinder you need. Grinding is used for improving the texture and flow properties of various products and to enhance the flavor of food products such as coffee, spices, sugar, nuts, sesame, poppy seeds, lentils, wheat, and rice. Choosing the right rotational speed, grinding elements, and processing power allow the grinding and shredding of a wide range of materials into coarse or fine powders. Popular types of heavy duty grinders in food processing include angle grinders, bench grinders and meat grinders.

Pelleting equipment transforms powdered, mashed, or grounded material into a denser cylindrical shape. Pellet processing compresses the fine material against a perforated die, where it will be shaped and cut. Although granulating and extrusion also produce pellet-like products, manufacturing pellets is a distinct process.

Quality of gypsum and stucco products are highly influenced by the quality of the calcining process employed in production. Consistent grinding, purification, and drying of raw mineral inputs prior to their being entrained in the hot gas flow of the calcining equipment ensures efficient calcining and a resultant high-quality final product.


<h2>Grinding, purifying, drying, and calcining from a single piece of equipment</h2>
Claudius Peters’ EM Mill is a calcining system for gypsum and stucco with an integrated grinding mill. The mill uses free moving steel balls rather than stationary rollers which ensures uniform fine grinding while avoiding the need for any bearings inside the mill. The grinding system employed requires very little maintenance and has been known to achieve a service life of over 40,000 hours. At the base of the grinding system, a scraper acts on the ball track conveying foreign material out of the mill into the reject box.

The efficiency of the grinding system allows low material time inside the mill enhancing the controllability of the process and ensuring uniform product quality. After sufficient grinding material is entrained in a calcining gas flow of unusually high temperature which yields lower gas volumes and optimal energy consumption. The constant randomized motion of the ball grinding system ensures even and constant distribution of raw gypsum for exposure to the calcining flow.

Purification is the removal of contaminating substances and by-products to increase the level of purity of the desired substance. Considerations for choosing a suitable purification system in the industry, include the physical state of the mixture, the desired product, required level of purity, the type of mixture, heat sensitivity of the product, number of purification steps needed, and the production volume. Industrial purification systems are used for the production of pure water in the food pharmaceutical and biotech industries.

The quality of gypsum and stucco products is highly influenced by the quality of the calcining process utilized in the production. Post-processing of calcined gypsum can further enhance the product's quality and reduce production costs, all at once.

Claudius Peters’ Smart Gypsum homogenizer receives a fresh calcined gypsum continuously at a full temperature from the calciner and improves its quality through post-processing. The material is fed through a vertical reactor chamber with a fabric floor which evenly distributes the fluidizing air allowing the gypsum to float freely in the reactor. Additional air is injected through nozzles in a way that ensures complete mixing of the material in the reactor and outflow of a homogenous product. Clinker is discharged from the kiln onto the static inlet where it is quenched with air blasts and evenly distributed onto the cooling and transport beds. Clinker is moved along the beds via reciprocating motion of independent lanes within the bed actuated by hydraulic cylinders. As each lane moves forward 100 % of the clinker in it moves with it, on the back stroke however, only 25% of the clinker is moved. In this way the clinker is moved along the bed by the continued reciprocating action of the lanes. This method of transport reduces machine wear, required maintenance, and product loss when compared to traditional methods. Independent control of the lanes gives another level of control over the distribution of clinker within the bed. The number of lanes is determined by the width of the bed and the required capacity of the system. This method of transport greatly reduces wear and associated maintenance and efficiency issues associated with traditional designs. Cooling is achieved by an airflow through the clinker bed from underneath. The flow is generated by fans and routed through special channels on the underside of the transport lanes for even distribution throughout the entire clinker bed this too is an enhancement over traditional clinker cooling equipment because even cooling of all the clinker is achieved with less energy required.

Bends in pneumatic conveyor lines cause load loss leading to lower flow rates. Pumping abrasive materials causes ordinary cast-iron bends to wear out over time causing product loss and system downtime.

GVF Impianti offers wear-resistant bends for dense phase pneumatic conveyor lines. They are produced in cast iron with Ni-Hard carbonitriding for increased wear resistance. GVF bends are supplied with a revolving split flange which allows them to be rotated as desired. They are supplied with soft gum die casting gaskets and are fitted with an eye-bolt for uplift support.

The CSQ Series bends are squared bends, available with two or three channels in sizes of 2-5 inches. CSQ bends allow the product to form a bed in the bend which helps reduce wear.

The CM series of segmented bends is available in sizes of 2.5 to 4 inches. CM bends are designed to minimize loss of load at the bend. They are composed of three sectors of 30° and can form 30°, 60°, and 90° bends. The three-sector construction allows the replacement of a single element.
