High-efficiency annular gap scrubber
In industries such as iron and steel production, managing off-gas emissions is a critical challenge. These environments often require advanced systems to control both gas flow and pressure while efficiently removing dust and pollutants from process gases.

Improve gas cleaning and pressure control
The Annular Gap Scrubber by GEA is a high-efficiency solution for industrial off-gas treatment, particularly in blast furnaces and steelmaking plants. This scrubber features a two-stage process designed to optimize gas cooling and dust removal. The first stage, a pre-scrubber, reduces the gas temperature and removes coarse dust using a series of water spray nozzles. Process gases then move to the second stage, which includes GEA BISCHOFF RS-elements that perform fine de-dusting through an adjustable annular gap. A centrally arranged spray nozzle ensures uniform water distribution, creating efficient gas cleaning with minimal space requirements. The system also doubles as a flow or pressure control device, offering excellent dust collection efficiency and non-clogging performance.
Benefits
- Dual-stage design for effective cooling and dust removal
- Compact, axial-symmetric configuration minimizes space usage
- Serves as both a gas cleaning and pressure control unit
- Efficient dust collection with high turbulence interaction
- Non-clogging spray nozzles ensure reliable operation
