In situ dry-ice snow generator for food and pharma applications

In the food and pharmaceutical industries, there is often a need for highly efficient, clog-free snow generation using liquid CO2. Traditional methods may lack reliability and versatility in various operational positions, which can hinder performance.

Produces dry-ice snowflakes in diverse operational angles

The Snow Horn by Dohmeyer is a specialized CO2-based snow generator engineered for food and pharmaceutical applications. Designed with an expansion chamber, heat exchanger, and vacuum jacket, it generates dry-ice snowflakes in situ. Its unique vacuum jacket not only ensures safe, touchable outer casing but also makes it condensation-free during operation. Pre-chilling the CO2 in a heat exchanger guarantees clog-free snow production, while the design allows mounting in positions ranging from vertical (90°) to nearly horizontal (10°). This system is versatile enough for cooling metals, cryogenic deburring of rubber, and neutralization of chemical waste among other applications. The snow production capacity ranges from 0.3 kg/min to 13 kg/min, controlled by different nozzle sizes.

Benefits

  • Clog-free snow generation
  • Operates safely and condensation-free
  • Varied mounting positions for flexibility
  • Versatile applications in food, pharma, and other industries
  • Adjustable snow production rate
