Crane weighing system for precision measurement
In industrial settings where crane operations involve lifting heavy loads, precise weight measurement is crucial. Engineers often face the challenge of maintaining accuracy while dealing with structural constraints and varying temperatures.

Ensures accurate and integrated load measurements
The double-frame crane weighing system by Schenck Process employs four RTN load cells positioned between the chassis frame and the weighing frame, using SensiQ Secure Mount (SSM) load cell bearings. This structure ensures high-precision measurement with an accuracy of up to 0.1% of the limit value. The system is designed to automatically center itself after lateral deflection using elastomer mounts. Additionally, it is not temperature-sensitive and can be calibrated for reliable, consistent performance. The weighing system’s cabling integrates seamlessly with the crane’s existing cabling infrastructure, providing a safe operation environment, especially in high-heat areas like those involving ladles.
Benefits
- Accurate weight measurement up to 0.1% of limit value
- Automatic self-centering to handle lateral deflection
- Not temperature-sensitive, ensuring reliability
- Seamless integration with crane's cabling
