Metal powder recovery system after 3d printing

Effectively reclaim and purify metal powders after 3D printing to enhance component quality and maximize material usage, ensuring your production line runs efficiently and safely with minimal waste.

Conveys, Sieves, and Reclaims Metal Powders

The PowTReX series from Volkmann is engineered to efficiently reclaim excess metal powders used in additive manufacturing and metal 3D printing. This system integrates vacuum conveying, sieving, and storage, helping manufacturers like those in aerospace and automotive sectors reclaim and purify metal powders for reuse. The PowTReX effectively conveys powder from 3D printers or unpacking stations into its buffer container, where sieves remove oversized particles and contaminants. It offers high throughput, handling up to 600 kg/h of stainless steel powder and 300 kg/h of aluminum powder, ideal for large printers and multi-machine setups. Equipped with integrated vacuum conveyors and an ultrasonic-excited sieve, the system ensures optimal loading and separation. The PowTReX runs in both manual and automated operations, and an optional inert gas setup is available for sensitive powder handling. Certified for dust explosion risk (ATEX), it emphasizes safety and reliability. Additionally, the system’s customizable options allow it to meet specific production requirements, supported by Volkmann’s engineering expertise.

Benefits

  • Enhances productivity by rapidly reclaiming and purifying excess metal powders.
  • Decreases material costs through efficient powder sieving and reuse.
  • Safeguards personnel from dust explosion risks with ATEX certification.
  • Minimizes downtime with high throughput suited for large-scale operations.
  • Offers flexible integration options to fit diverse production environments.
