Carbon and sulfur analyzer for inorganic samples

When conducting elemental analysis in industries like steel, metallurgy, or geology, precise measurement of carbon and sulfur contents is crucial. Ensuring accurate and reliable results across a broad concentration range poses significant challenges, especially in high-temperature environments.

Measure carbon and sulfur concentrations accurately

The ELEMENTRAC CS-i by ELTRA Elemental Analyzers is an advanced system designed specifically for measuring carbon and sulfur concentrations in inorganic samples. The system employs an induction furnace that reaches temperatures above 2000 °C, ensuring complete decomposition of samples. The gaseous combustion products, carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide, are analyzed using solid-state infrared absorption. The ELEMENTRAC CS-i supports up to four infrared cells, which can be configured for high sensitivity based on specific user needs. Key features include a platinum-based catalyst reactor for precise carbon detection, a heated dust trap for improved sulfur recovery, and an optional vacuum system for handling potentially harmful samples. The analyzer meets all common standards like ASTM E1019 and DIN EN ISO 15350. Suitable for use in industries such as construction materials, engineering, electronics, and mining, it offers reliable analysis with a variety of configurations ranging from single-element to simultaneous carbon and sulfur measurement.

Benefits

  • Accurate analysis with infrared absorption
  • High-temperature induction furnace ensures complete decomposition
  • Configurable IR cells for flexible sensitivity
  • Heated dust trap improves recovery rates and reproducibility
