Separation of cutting fluids from metal chips

In metalworking facilities, processing centers generate significant amounts of metal chips mixed with cutting fluids and coolants. Efficient separation of these substances is crucial to recover valuable liquids and recycle materials, ensuring smoother operations and meeting environmental standards.

Recovers liquids and oils from metal chips

The HEINKEL Vertical De-oiling Centrifuge V 600 – 1100 IS is designed for the effective separation of cutting fluids and coolants from steel, cast, and metal chips. Through its simple yet rugged design, the system operates by filling the central feeding hopper with metal chips, which are then accelerated by a rotating perforated basket. A hydraulically operated pusher plate moves the chips upwards, allowing the centrifugal force to extract fluids. These fluids pass through a slotted screen and perforations in the basket, collecting in the filtrate housing for further processing. The frequency of the pusher plate’s movement, adjustable to optimize chip retention time and fluid extraction, enhances efficiency. The HEINKEL Process Technology GmbH supplies the V 600 – 1100 IS, available in various sizes to handle different throughput capacities, making it suitable for wet chip processing in the metal recycling and processing industries.
