Modified atmosphere chamber furnace for stress relieving

When stress relieving additive manufactured components made via direct metal laser sintering (DMLS), achieving a reduced oxygen environment and precise temperature control is critical for quality outcomes. Traditional methods often fail to meet aerospace industry standards.

Tailor atmosphere and temperature for advanced heat treatment

The GPCMA modified atmosphere chamber furnace is a purpose-built solution for applications requiring a controlled atmosphere and precise temperature management. Featuring a metallic retort, the unit can operate at temperatures ranging from 1000 °C to 1150 °C depending on the retort material. Retort volumes cater to various scales, from 37 to 245 litres. Oxygen levels can be minimized to just 30 ppm tailored to specific material needs. Particularly suited for stress relieving components produced via DMLS, the system also supports compliance with AMS2750F Nadcap class 1 standards for aerospace applications, when specified. Standard features include programmable controllers, a semi-automatic gas system, and robust thermal insulation for energy efficiency. Carbolite Gero’s design also emphasizes user safety with features like a water-cooled door seal and door safety interlock.
