You can separate liquids and solids in semifluid materials with a filter press. This machine may be automatic or manual, and passes the viscous substance through a series of filter chambers that press against one another to squeeze out the liquids, draining them in a channel at the base of the structure. The liquids are extracted using pressurized air, leaving only the solids to be collected from between the movable plates.
