The name Canola comes from ‘Canadian Oil Low Acid’. In the 1970s researchers in Canada developed rapeseed varieties with low erucic acid and glucosinolate. These properties made the seed safe for consumption while improving its palatability. Today, the varieties are grown worldwide and include the rapeseed double-zero, as it is known in Europe. In only a few decades, canola oil and canola meal processing carved out a central role in the global food and feed industry.

The first cottonseed oil production started in 1833, consequently forming the cottonseed cake. His novel idea came after he noticed dogs eating leftover biscuits from ships in England. Bone meal and meat meal are by-products from slaughterhouses and livestock farms. But besides feed, MBM can also be used as fertilizer and fuel.

Nowadays, the most common molasses comes from sugar cane and sugar beet. The rapeseed flower evolved high concentrations of substances that are anti-nutritive at best and toxic at worst. But new varieties developed in the 1970s lowered the content of glucosinolates and erucic acids. From then, the use of oilseed rape spread to several applications, from edible oil to biofuel to animal feed. Rapeseed oil processing technology has thus become foundational to industries spanning food production, energy, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals.

Many pet owners consider themselves parents of furry babies, meaning they consider their pets as family rather than companions. In aquafeed, you can find three types of pellets: floating pellets, sinking pellets, and slow-sinking pellets, because not all aquatic species eat at the same height of the water column. In the case of bottom feeders such as shrimp, river crab, sea bass, and some species of catfish, they eat sinking pellets. Contrary to tilapia and carp that feeds from the surface with floating pellets. Sinking pellets production must control water stability to preserve the quality and form of the pellets, avoiding nutrients' dissolution in the water.

Belt drying equipment is used predominantly in the chemical industry but can also be found in other industries. This machinery uses conveyor belts to move raw materials through hot air produced by heat exchangers or by using gas. Belt dryers are suitable for continuous air drying and cooling applications.
