Counterflow pellet coolers

In pelleting processes, overheating and insufficient cooling can compromise pellet quality, leading to durability issues and moisture retention problems. Ensuring pellets reach near ambient temperature is crucial for maintaining integrity and quality during storage and transportation.

Efficiently cools pellets to ambient temperature

The counterflow pellet coolers by Ottevanger Milling Engineers are designed to efficiently cool pellets and extrudates to near ambient temperature. Unlike traditional cooling methods, the counterflow cooler operates by having air flow in the opposite direction to the pellets. This gradual cooling process mitigates the risk of pellet damage due to temperature shock. Available in eight sizes, with capacities up to 30 t/h, these coolers can be integrated into various production scales. Depending on the specific application, special discharge systems are also available. Each cooler ensures consistent cooling results, which is critical for maintaining pellet quality and storage stability.

Benefits

  • Prevents pellet damage by gradual cooling
  • Capacities up to 30 t/h
  • Supports various production scales
  • Reduces risk of moisture retention
  • Customizable discharge systems
