Breakfast cereal extrusion
Cereal extrusion is a pelleting or shaping process of cereal dough into diverse shapes and forms. These shapes of cereals are often refined by thermo-mechanical cereal extruder machines – one of which is a twin-screw extruder. There are three different types of extruded cereal – direct expanded cereal, co-extruded cereal, and extruded flakes. It is important to understand which type of extruded cereal you are producing since the order of the extrusion process will be changed in the production line.
