The RotaSafe Detection System by Gericke is a fully automated contact detection solution designed to prevent contamination and protect rotary valves. It instantly detects any contact between the rotor and valve housing, sending a signal to isolate power to the drive motor. This system addresses issues such as rotor shift due to product build-up, bearing failure, and excessive temperature. By preventing valve start-up if assembled incorrectly, RotaSafe minimizes the risk of material shedding and serious damage to valve components. Validated as ‘Simple Apparatus’ under clause 5.7 of EN60079-11.2012 by Baseefa, the control panel eliminates false alarms or ‘nuisance tripping’ and is available for panel mounting or in stand-alone setups for monitoring multiple valves. This system can also be retrofitted to existing rotary valves.
