Vertical scraped surface heat exchanger for food processing

In industrial food processing, maintaining a consistent temperature during the heating and cooling of viscous products can be challenging. Traditional batch operations often result in uneven temperature distribution and extended processing times, impacting product quality and production efficiency.

Ensure uniform heating and cooling for viscous products

The Votator® II Vertical Scraped Surface Heat Exchanger from Waukesha Cherry-Burrell, part of SPX Flow, is designed to replace inefficient batch operations with a more uniform, controllable, and repeatable continuous process. Incorporating features from the Thermutator® and Votator® lines, this system supports increased flexibility and uptime, certified by 3-A, ASME, and PED. The vertical lift system allows for easy inspection and maintenance, while the strengthened hydraulic power pack and heavy-duty components ensure reliable operation. The system’s gear motor drive is directly coupled to the mutator shaft, reducing the overall length of the heat exchanger by 20-25%, and making maintenance seamless. Units offer up to 11 square feet of heat transfer area, suitable for heating and cooling a variety of food and personal care products.
