Vertical colloid mill for emulsifying and homogenizing
In various industries including food processing, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics, precise grinding and mixing of substances are critical. Achieving uniform emulsions and homogenous mixtures can be a challenge, particularly with highly viscous or coarse materials.
Consistent and precise particle reduction
The Colloid Mill Type O from Probst & Class GmbH & Co. KG is designed for vertical, in-line, and batch operations. It offers precise grinding and mixing by exerting hydraulic, mechanical cutting, impact, squeezing, friction, and shear forces in an annular gap between the stator and rotor. This mill supports a wide variety of applications including de-agglomeration, dispersing, emulsifying, micro-comminution, homogenizing, dissolving, mixing, and wet milling. Available in seven standard sizes, it accommodates flow rates from 150 to 34,000 l/h depending on product viscosity and mill configuration. Features include an enclosed motor, various mechanical seal options compliant with FDA requirements, and customizable milling gears. Accessory options include heated or cooled housings, recirculation systems, and ATEX versions, allowing tailored solutions for a diversity of industries such as food and beverage, chemicals, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals.
