The conventional NIRO® Spray Dryer by GEA is designed to efficiently convert liquid into fine powder with particle sizes ranging from 20 to 300 microns. Used predominantly in the chemical industry, this spray dryer also extends its applications to the food and dairy sectors. The process involves atomizing the concentrate using either a Rotary Atomizer or high-pressure nozzles. High-velocity air dispersers ensure optimal mixing with the atomized concentrate, leading to instantaneous evaporation. With a one-stage drying process, the powder reaches its final moisture content directly upon exiting the chamber. By integrating a VIBRO-FLUIDIZER® fluid bed at the chamber’s base, users can transform the setup into a two-stage dryer, enhancing energy efficiency, capacity, and sometimes even product quality.
