Supercritical Co2 extraction system

In industries like pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, and plant-based products, it is crucial to isolate compounds without using harmful organic solvents. Processes involving heat or chemicals pose risks both to the product quality and the environment.

Eco-friendly extraction using supercritical Co2

The supercritical CO2 extraction system by De Dietrich Process Systems, distributed in partnership with Thar Process, offers a clean and pure alternative to traditional solvent-based extraction methods. By operating under specific temperatures and pressures, carbon dioxide transitions into a supercritical state, functioning effectively as a solvent for extracting compounds from cannabis, EPA/DHA (omega-3 industries), natural flavors, fragrances, cosmetics, and vegetable oils. This technique is advantageous as it avoids the use of toxic, flammable organic solvents and leaves no residues. Furthermore, CO2 is a cost-effective solvent that can be reclaimed from industrial processes, enhancing sustainability and reducing waste. This system is scalable, capable of handling extractions from as little as 10 kg up to 10 metric tons per day. Tailored solutions address both extraction speed (SuperFast™) and efficiency (SuperPressure™), with additional optimization support available through pilot-scale trials in De Dietrich’s Tech Lab in France.

Benefits

  • Reduces need for organic solvents
  • Leaves no solvent residues on extracts
  • Cost-effective, upcycled CO2 solvent
  • Scalable from lab to industrial scale
  • Environmentally sustainable process
