Mini extruder for early development phase testing
In pharmaceutical research or material science, early development phases often involve limited quantities of active ingredients. Efficient use of small amounts of material is crucial for process optimization and formulation development.

Efficient extrusion using minimal material
The ZE 5 HMI by Three-Tec is a table-top mini extruder designed for early-stage development, requiring as little as 1 g of material to produce 0.75 g of extrudate. Despite its compact size, the extruder offers various advanced features found in larger models. It can be customized with water, air, or liquid nitrogen cooling as well as optical pressure measurement at the die and liquid feeders. The co-rotating screw conveyors can be adjusted for multiple processes, including conveying, kneading, and mixing, making it a versatile tool in research and development settings. This extruder supports a maximum pressure of 200 bar and a maximum temperature of 230°C (with an option to reach 400°C). The touch panel operation ensures user-friendly control, while the stainless steel 316L construction ensures durability.
