Lactose drying system for high-quality edible powder
In dairy processing, producing high-quality lactose powder involves several steps from separation to final drying. Challenges include maintaining yield efficiencies while reducing capital and operating costs. Effective lactose drying systems must handle these requirements seamlessly.

Process lactose to high-quality powder efficiently
The L-TECH™ Lactose Drying System by Kovalus Separation Solutions is engineered to process lactose into high-quality edible powder while minimizing capital and operating costs. This system features a crystallizer sized to customer requirements and CIP capable for easy operation. The refiner is fully automated with counter-current washing and low-volume water usage, designed for efficient purification. The attrition dryer employs a compact design with low air velocity and high air temperature to break up agglomerates into uniform particle size. This product moves efficiently through a heated air stream to an interstage cyclone for reduced dust loading. The fluid bed dryer performs the final drying and cooling stages, ensuring efficiency and CIP capability. Hot and cold baghouses collect fine particles, which are reintroduced to maximize yield. Additional accessories like the CrystaLac™ Crystallizing Evaporator complement the drying process. All equipment adheres to 3A standards and USDA guidelines, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
