While producing sauces or spreads, the pipes in your equipment require precise cleaning, which is a highly water-consuming process. We had a great conversation with Erik Stasse, Rob Wouters, and Jan Vermeulen from <a href="https://fluivac.com/">Fluidor</a> about their newest innovations of the Fluivac.


<h2>Save water and recover your product with the process</h2>
Erik explains that instead of cleaning the production line with water, Fluivac uses compressed air instead. "The cleaning process can use thousands of liters of water, we use just 20," says Erik. It has previously been used by beverage producers, but thanks to the innovations, you can now use it for stickier products, for example even for peanut butter!

The process can take from 4 to 10 minutes, and as Jan and Rob explain, it consists of 4 steps: push, blow, rinse, and dry. It's not only for cleaning the pipework but recovering the product inside. Therefore you can do both: save water and minimize your product loss.

Thus compressed air is pushed into your pipework, to remove the product on the walls and to ensure an effective cleaning process. Sounds good, right? We're eager to see more innovations from Fluidor!

Food

A beverage is any kind of liquid or drink, usually other than water, made for human consumption. Beverages are further classified into two categories: alcoholic beverages and non-alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic beverages refer to liquids that contain 1% to 75% of liquor and are produced by fermentation such as wine, beer, or distillation such as vodka, rum, tequila. Non-alcoholic beverages are drinks that don’t have any liquor such as tea, coffee, fruit juices, soft drinks, and carbonated beverages. They can be produced premix or postmix, depending on the setup of your production line.

Fruit pulp is a mass of pressed fresh fruit not meant for immediate consumption. Production of fruit pulp avoids wasting food and preserves the flavors and nutrient value of the fruit product. Processed fruit pulp is an ingredient in beverages, sauces, baby foods, jellies, smoothies, and bakery products.

Tradition and manufacturing procedures dictate the distinction between fruit juice, puree, and pulp. Still, naming and labeling are complex and depend on regulations, type of fruit, texture, consistency, preservation methods, and sugar or solid content (measured in Degrees Brix). Depending on your desired output, there are various fruit pulper machines for different stages of production that make the process quicker and more efficient.

"While other detection systems normally use X-ray, cameras, or magnetic fields, we use microwave technology," says Linus. It can detect foreign objects that usually remain unnoticed, such as the infamous blue soft plastic. </span></p>
<span lang="EN-US">The technology is designed for pumpable foods, with both: high and low viscosity. It can detect the foreign body and then quickly eject it, making your production process more seamless.</span>

Our food chain starts in the soil, growing crops and livestock. But between the fields and the stores, there is a line of industrial food processing equipment. <p data-pm-slice="0 0 []">Would sweet potato pasta be sweet?</p>
Yes, that was the first question we asked when we encountered sweet potato pasta at <a href="https://amsterdam.freefromfoodexpo.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Free From Fair</a>.

<a href="https://batasta.com/en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Batasta</a> presented three different colors of sweet potato pasta to us - white, light orange or light purple - which, of course, are based on the color of the sweet potato they used.

Martina Wanis, the founder of Batasta was thinking of ways to use extra sweet potatoes that are too big, too small, or “funny-shaped” to be sold in the supermarket. And her answer was pasta!

This sweet potato pasta is made out of 50% of sweet potatoes and 50% of gluten-free wheat flour. Hence, this pasta is gluten-free, nutritious, and sustainable!

The answer to the question on top is - No. Batasta has a slight taste of sweet potatoes, but barely identifiable. It tastes more like regular pasta, especially when you cook it with sauces.
