Super high shear mixer for nano to micron powders

In scenarios where precision powder mixing, particle surface modification, and consistent shape enhancement are crucial, traditional mixers often fall short. These challenges necessitate equipment that combines multiple processing capabilities to handle nano to micron-sized particles without using binders.

Achieve precise composite material production

The Nobilta super high shear mixer from Hosokawa Micron is a multifunctional processing device designed for high-speed, precision mixing, particle surface modification, and shape enhancement. It effectively combines particles into composite materials through mechanical force in a dry process. The mixer’s horizontal cylindrical vessel and specially designed rotor operate at high speeds of up to 30 m/s, exerting equal impact, compression, and shear forces on each particle. This makes the Nobilta particularly suited for nanoparticle processing, where overcoming strong agglomeration forces is essential. The unit is equipped with a jacketed vessel to manage heat, preventing the degradation of heat-sensitive materials. Applications include batteries, catalysts, cosmetics, dry powder inhalants (DPI), functional resins, pigments, and toner. The mixer is available in five models, with batch volumes ranging from 0.5 to 300 liters, power options from 5.5 kW to 200 kW, and motor speeds from 780 to 6000 rpm.

Benefits

  • Combines multiple processing capabilities in one unit
  • Handles a range of particle sizes from nano to micron
  • Equipped with a jacketed vessel to manage heat
  • Suitable for heat-sensitive, abrasive, and sticky materials
  • Compact design with low running cost
