Single-use bioreactors for mammalian and insect cell cultivation
Scaling up mammalian and insect cell cultures in a consistent and contamination-free environment can be challenging, especially when dealing with high-volume requirements and diverse cell types such as suspension, anchorage-dependent, and stem cells.
Support scalable cell cultivation processes
The BioBLU® c Single-Use Bioreactors from Eppendorf are rigid-walled stirred-tank bioreactors designed to facilitate the scalable cultivation of human and animal cells. These bioreactors offer a 400-fold cell expansion with a working volume range from 100 mL to 40 L, making them adaptable to various volume requirements. Different versions have been developed to meet the specific needs of suspension cells, anchorage-dependent cells, and stem cells. All BioBLU c bioreactor sizes are equipped with pitched-blade impellers for optimal mixing and mass transfer. The BioBLU 0.3sc, in particular, features an 8-blade impeller optimized for reduced cell settling and low-shear mixing, ideal for stem cell applications. BioBLU bioreactors are compatible with both Eppendorf’s small and bench-scale bioprocess controllers as well as selected third-party systems. With non-invasive sensor technology for pH, DO, and temperature, these bioreactors drastically reduce contamination risk. Additional features include a sealed magnetic drive for maintaining sterility and exhaust treatment options.
