Blending silo for free-flowing and poorly flowing bulk materials
In industrial processes, achieving uniform mixing of bulk materials with varying flow properties is crucial. Challenges include ensuring consistent mixing performance and efficient emptying, especially when dealing with poorly flowing materials in continuous or non-continuous operations.

Ensures uniform blending and efficient emptying
The Multi-Flow blending hopper from Zeppelin Systems is designed to optimize the mixing of free-flowing to poorly flowing bulk materials. By creating different flow speeds within the hopper and cylinder area, it achieves varied dwell times, which enhances the blending effect. The Multi-Flow blending silos, with a slenderness ratio of <2.5 (height: diameter), offer efficient mixing. The blending hopper can be retrofitted into existing silos quickly, either through flange-mounting or weld-joining. Inside, flat vertical fins provide support, making the system easy to clean. This design reduces the overall height of the silo and ensures residue-free emptying. The system can also be used in conjunction with degassing operations for more effective material handling.
Benefits
- Quick and easy retrofit for existing silos
- Enhanced mixing through varied dwell times and mass flow
- Easy cleaning due to lack of additional internals
- Cost-efficient and reduced height design
- Residue-free emptying capability
