Autoclave passive opener for sterilisation of passive valves

In industries requiring sterility assurance, effectively sterilizing passive valves within an autoclave poses significant challenges. Ensuring maximum exposure of product contact surfaces without a full active unit assembly is crucial for maintaining sterile conditions.

Maximizes exposure for sterilisation

The Autoclave Passive Opener by Chargepoint Technology is designed specifically for the sterilization of passive valves within an autoclave. This device allows the passive valve to be opened without the need for a full active unit assembly, enhancing sterility assurance by exposing the maximum surface area of the product contact surfaces. It fits securely to the passive valve but does not require fixation via coupling within the autoclave. For added security, it can be docked in the autoclave with a hygienic tri-clamp connection. The opener includes the interlocks typical of an active unit to open the connected passive unit during the autoclave cycle. This ensures the surfaces of the passive valve and attached container/IBC are thoroughly sterilized. Constructed from PEEK and 316L or Alloy 22 materials, and sealed with FKM or FFKM, the device ensures that condensate drains effectively, adhering to GMP design standards. It is compatible with valve sizes ranging from DN50 (2”) to DN200 (8”).
