Wash-off-line system for pharmaceutical plants
Pharmaceutical manufacturers require consistent, repeatable cleaning standards for intricate equipment. Traditional cleaning methods lead to significant production downtime, affecting overall efficiency and operational costs.

Automates equipment cleaning, saving time and costs
The Wash-Off-Line (WOL) system by GEA offers a high-containment solution for cleaning pharmaceutical equipment with minimal downtime. It utilizes a closed design that isolates the Exchangeable Compression Module (ECM) from the tablet press, enabling the press to produce a new product while the current module undergoes cleaning. The ECM is made from corrosion-free materials and facilitates automatic washing with low water consumption through specially designed jets. The cleaning process is PLC-programmed for optimized use of cold and warm water, detergents, and purified water. Tested extensively, the WOL system has proven to be effective across different pharmaceutical companies, ensuring that only product-contact parts require cleaning, thus reducing maintenance and operational interruptions.
