Single-use bioreactor for cell culture processes
Handling large-scale cell culture processes requires equipment that can ensure consistent mixing, optimized mass transfer, and scalability to meet various production phases. Traditional bioreactors often pose challenges such as contamination risks and inconsistent performance in scaling up from pilot to commercial production.

Optimize cell cultures for large-scale bioprocessing
The DynaDrive™ Single-Use Bioreactor, from Thermo Fisher Scientific, is designed to enhance bioprocessing efficiency through its advanced stir-tank design. Capable of handling volumes from 50 L to 5,000 L, this bioreactor ensures consistent performance across all scales. It features redesigned hardware, a sophisticated mixing impeller, and an innovative sparging approach to improve mixing dynamics and mass transfer. For modern cell culture processes, including batch, fed batch, and perfusion cultures, it offers optimized power input per volume (PIV) and kLa performance, supporting cell densities exceeding 100 million cells/mL. The reactor’s hardware is manufactured for perfusion processes and includes load cells and a jacketed vessel. The bioprocess container (BPC) used in the DynaDrive system incorporates the robust Thermo Scientific™ Aegis™ 5-14 bioprocessing film and is evaluated for leachables and extractables as per BioPhorum Operations Group (BPOG) guidelines.
