Rocker bioreactor for cell culture processes

In biopharmaceutical research and production, maintaining optimal cell growth conditions is crucial for both suspension and adherent cell cultures. Traditional static cell culture methods can present challenges such as inconsistent oxygenation and temperature control, which can impede cell growth and viability.

Rocking motion-controlled, sensor-integrated cell culture

The Thermo Scientific HyPerforma Rocker Bioreactor is a versatile system designed for use in various bioprocessing applications, ranging from research and process development to seed train production. It supports working volumes from 5 L to 25 L and is compatible with 10 L, 20 L, or 50 L Rock-it BioProcess Containers. The system is regulated via a HyPerforma G3Lab Controller and TruBio software, ensuring precise control and measurement of key parameters such as pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), and temperature through the integrated TruFluor pH+dO2 sensor. The configurable rocking motion of the bioreactor ranges from gentle waves to aggressive motion for optimizing oxygen transfer, catering to diverse cell lines. Additionally, an optional heating blanket with a bimetallic temperature limiting switch provides protection against overheating. The system’s quick setup and operational simplicity make it suitable for cGMP manufacturing workflows as well as pilot-scale operations.
