Medium-volume rotary tablet press for pharmaceuticals

In the pharmaceutical industry, reducing production costs while ensuring quality is essential. Containing highly potent drugs without risking operator exposure poses significant challenges.

High throughput with exchangeable modules

The MODUL S by GEA is a medium-volume rotary tablet press designed to address both cost reduction and containment requirements in pharmaceutical production. Its Exchangeable Compression Module (ECM) technology allows for full changeovers in just 30 minutes, minimizing downtime and cross-contamination risks. The ECM’s isolated dust-tight module ensures that all product contact parts are confined and can be easily swapped out, leaving the press itself powder-free. The MODUL S features a larger turret and longer feeder length, catering to products with poor flow characteristics by extending residence times during die filling. This enhances throughput while reducing risks of capping and lamination. The standard dual control system optimizes tablet weight, hardness, and dwell times, providing flexibility to meet varying operational needs. With its capacity to produce up to 374,000 tablets per hour, it offers efficient and safe production at high volumes.
