Laboratory spray dryer for sub-gram powder samples

In laboratory settings, creating precise, small-batch powder samples for feasibility, development, and clinical trials can be challenging. Ensuring high recovery rates and scalable particle properties is essential.

Produce precise powder samples with minimal material loss

The GSD-200 GENESIS™ from Freund is a portable, self-contained laboratory spray drying system. It features a drying chamber, atomizing nozzle, cyclone, and exhaust fines filter, all contained within a robust 304 stainless steel exterior and 316L stainless steel product contact parts. The unit can operate in both open and closed-loop systems, with an optional nitrogen inerting upgrade for solvent processing. A key feature is the discovery module, allowing the production of sub-gram samples with almost complete recovery. Additional options include a pressure nozzle for commercial scale representative particles and modular cyclone configurations for optimized processing. The system uses a reliable VFD motor, continuous duty fan, and proven cartridge filter technology to minimize interruptions and maintain longer batch runs. Scalable spray nozzles and integrated process data collection facilitate seamless transition to larger systems.
