Laboratory microalgae cultivation system
In research and pre-scale projects, precise control of microalgae growth conditions is essential for optimal results. Environments require a system that offers accurate management of light, temperature, and CO2 levels to yield high-density cultures efficiently.

Support microalgae growth with a controlled environment
The pre-culture and laboratory systems from Subitec GmbH are designed to provide maximum safety and efficiency in small-scale microalgae cultivation. Their systems, including the LS6, LS28, LS4x28, and LS180, use the Flat-Panel-Airlift-Photobioreactor (FPA) technology, developed by the Fraunhofer Institute, which provides a closed, contamination-free environment. The FPA system optimizes the growth conditions by allowing precise control of light, temperature, and CO2, resulting in high growth rates and excellent product quality. The systems are additionally designed to support various stages of microalgae production, from research-scale to pre-scale and up to the beginnings of industrial production. Features such as high photosynthetic surface area per unit, integrated LED grow lights, and efficient mixing ensure minimal shear stress, preserving cell viability. Subitec’s hermetically sealed design prevents contamination and maintains the integrity of sensitive, high-value, or genetically modified microalgae cultures.
