Hot cell system for solid target manipulation in radiopharma

In the radiopharmaceutical industry, handling irradiated materials requires stringent safety measures and precise operations. The manipulation of solid targets during the production and dispensing of radiopharmaceuticals must adhere to current GMP guidelines to ensure safety and efficiency.

Handle and dispense irradiated materials safely

The SPECT Production Hot Cell by Comecer is a comprehensive system designed for the safe manipulation of irradiated materials. It includes seven hot cells connected by a transfer system called the ‘Conveyor’. The cells feature shielding of 75 to 150 mm of lead and PVC working chambers. The lineup consists of various hot cells specialized for different tasks: a Receiving Hot Cell for receiving targets, a Recovery Hot Cell for storing materials, three Chemistry Hot Cells for synthesizing radiopharmaceuticals, and two Automatic Dispensing Systems equipped with robotic arms for precise calibration and dispensing. The system handles isotopes such as Tl-201 and Ga-67 and ensures seamless transfer of materials between different cells.
