Feed mill compactor for improved pellet quality

In feed milling, achieving optimal pellet quality and maximizing production capacity are crucial. Traditional methods of pelleting often fall short, causing inefficiencies and compromising the quality of the end product. An advanced compaction system can address these challenges effectively.

Enhance pellet quality and increase production capacity

The BOA Compactor by Ottevanger Milling Engineers utilizes patented pre-compacting technology as a superior alternative to double pelleting or expanding. This system features a double-walled mixing chamber where steam and liquids are combined with raw materials through hydraulically operated compaction. Large, adjustable paddles ensure a homogeneous mixture, while a rotating three-roller head in the compacting chamber presses the mixture through conical friction rings. The compaction level can be finely tuned with three hydraulic cylinders that adjust the distance between the friction rings, and the main motor’s power. This method improves pellet quality, optimizes absorption of steam and liquids, and results in a hygienic, easy-to-clean process. It offers capacities up to 25 tons per hour and supports flexible raw material choices, reducing wear and maintenance costs.
