Continuous belt thawing unit for frozen seafood

In food processing industries, particularly seafood, efficiently thawing block-frozen products while maintaining product quality can be challenging. Traditional methods may lead to inconsistent thawing and high water consumption.

Thaws and separates with minimal water use

The Belt Thawing Unit from Cabinplant is designed for continuous thawing of block-frozen products like shrimp, herring, and mackerel. Utilizing a warm water spray system heated by steam, the unit ensures even thawing by recirculating water from an underlying vessel through a specially designed distribution tray. Blocks are placed in a vertical position at the infeed, allowing automatic thawing and separation during conveyance. The first-in/first-out effect ensures the outermost product detaches first, even if the core remains frozen. The unit also includes automatic collection on a separate conveyor and temperature control of the thawing water, making it ideal for IQF products and block-frozen fish, shellfish, fillets, and meat. The system is available in various sizes to meet different capacity requirements.
