Co monitoring system for spray dryers
In food and dairy spray drying plants, the risk of fires and explosions due to smoldering powder deposits is a significant concern. Traditional CO level monitoring methods may be insufficient in promptly detecting these dangers, necessitating advanced solutions for continuous and accurate surveillance.

Continuous Co level monitoring and detection
The COTECTOR® system from GEA is a CO monitoring solution designed specifically for spray drying plants. This system continuously measures CO levels at each air inlet and outlet, providing real-time data on the drying chamber’s CO concentration. Unlike other monitoring technologies that transport air samples to a measurement device, COTECTOR® directly assesses CO levels, ensuring higher precision and reliability. The self-calibrating system is less expensive to install and requires minimal maintenance. Configurable for both new installations and retrofitting into existing setups, the system offers three levels of warning and can trigger automatic shutdowns if CO levels exceed safety thresholds. For enhanced safety, COTECTOR® can be integrated with GEA SPRAYEYE® Dual camera system, adding thermal and visual monitoring capabilities. This combination ensures early detection of potential hazards such as powder build-up and temperature hotspots.
