Powder and liquid mixing system for food and life sciences

In various food and life sciences processes, efficiently blending large quantities of powders into liquids can be a challenging task. Ensuring homogeneity, reducing product losses, and maintaining integration with existing systems are often significant concerns.

Ensure rapid and homogeneous powder-liquid mixing

The POLYMEL® blending system by Pierre Guerin is designed for dissolution and pre-dispersion of up to 9,500 Kg/h of powder into liquids. The mixing chamber includes a centrifugal pump casing, an impeller, and a horizontally mounted hopper. Liquids enter tangentially into the diffuser pipe and accelerate through the mixing chamber, where the impeller creates a vortex, inducing a pressure drop to suck up powder from the hopper. Turbulences in the impeller area ensure a homogeneous final mix. The system supports both continuous process transfers and recycling into a buffer vessel, making it extremely versatile. It’s particularly suited for applications like the reconstitution of milk products, dissolving sugar solutions, incorporating stabilizers and salts, and preparing food sauces and pharmaceutical components.
