The Thermo Scientificâ„¢ Pharma 24 Twin-Screw Extruder is designed for continuous processing in pharmaceutical research, development, and production. Featuring high free volume screw design and segmented construction of screws and barrel, it ensures minimal ingredient handling and operator exposure. The barrel, designed with pharma-grade steel and a horizontally split structure for easy maintenance, has a main feed port with cooling and seven multi-purpose top feed/vent/injection ports. The machine supports both Hot-Melt Extrusion (HME) and Twin-Screw Granulation (TSG) application sets, with processing capacities up to 20 kg/h for HME and 70 kg/h for TSG. Controlled through a touch screen panel with Siemens PLC, it complies with 21 CFR part 11 and offers four user levels for secure operation.
