Liquid nitrogen freezer for sensitive food and fermentation ingredients

In applications where rapid freezing is crucial, traditional freezing methods may cause deterioration of sensitive food or fermentation-derived ingredients. Achieving uniformly frozen products while preserving quality remains a significant challenge.

Enable rapid and uniform freezing

The Liquid Nitrogen Freezer (LNF) from GEA is designed for the rapid and optimal freezing of sensitive food, beverage, and fermentation-derived ingredients. Utilizing liquid nitrogen at -196 °C, the LNF freezes products into stable, uniformly frozen pellets that are free-flowing and dust-free. The system ensures minimal product loss and prevents agglomeration with its motorized agitator and controlled nitrogen supply. The LNF is equipped with features such as a liquid feed arrangement, pelletizer tank, screw conveyor, and a ventilation system to prevent nitrogen gas escape. It is clean-in-place (CIP)-compatible and can be disassembled for sanitation. The LNF comes in three industrial sizes with throughput capacities ranging from 100 to 500 L/h and a pilot unit for research applications.

Benefits

  • Rapid freezing minimizes deterioration
  • Uniform pellet size ensures high product quality
  • Easy to clean and maintain
