Grape harvest cooling tunnel

In the wine-making process, temperature control is critical from grape harvesting to tasting. Failure to maintain precise temperatures can negatively impact the quality, aging, and flavor of the wine.

Regulates harvest temperature with liquid nitrogen or Co2.

The grape harvest cooling tunnel by Groupe Serap is an advanced cryogenic tunnel designed for precise cooling requirements in wine processing. Constructed from AISI 304 (1.4301) stainless steel, this insulated inline tunnel can operate with either liquid nitrogen (LN2) or carbon dioxide (CO2), allowing for versatile temperature control. The tunnel includes a variable speed stainless steel conveyor belt and an opening lid made up of several parts for easy access. Additionally, it is designed for mobility with a frame fitted with casters and can be integrated seamlessly into a reception line. The system requires minimal operator intervention, ensuring quick and even refrigeration of the harvest, whether full or de-stalked. It maintains the grapes in a neutral gas atmosphere on the output to protect them from oxidation. This cooling tunnel respects the integrity of the grapes, preventing damage and ensuring optimal wine quality.

Benefits

  • Maintains precise temperature control throughout the cooling process.
  • Functions with both liquid nitrogen and carbon dioxide.
  • Mobile design for easy integration into existing systems.
  • Minimal operator supervision required, reducing labor costs.
  • Limits oxidation by keeping grapes in a neutral gas atmosphere.
