Glass lined columns for chemical plants

In chemical plants, the separation and purification of chemicals often face challenges due to the corrosive nature of certain materials. Traditional columns can deteriorate quickly, leading to increased maintenance and potential contamination.

Provide corrosion resistance and precise chemical separation

The glass-lined columns from GMM Pfaudler are designed to handle highly corrosive environments in chemical plants. With a shell made of glass-lined steel sections, they offer excellent corrosion resistance. These columns can be supported on brackets, rings, or skirts and come in customizable configurations to suit specific process requirements. The sealing at the body flanges employs the Pfaudler Gasket System 3000 with UF3000 compound. Internal components, made from materials like ceramic or PTFE, enhance the column’s performance. Two designs support column internals: body flanges with donut rings for small diameters and a new support pin design to prevent leaks, ideal for large diameters. These columns can operate under a design pressure of 10.0 bar and temperatures between -24º and +200º C. Complete systems include structural steel modules or field-fabricated assemblies with ancillary equipment, ensuring ease of operation and maintenance.

Benefits

  • Superior corrosion resistance due to glass-lined steel sections.
  • Customizable configuration to meet specific process needs.
  • Two internal support designs to enhance column integrity.
  • Operational under high pressure and wide temperature range.
  • Complete system designs for ease of operation and maintenance.
