Curd distribution system for cheddar production

In cheddar cheese production, maintaining uniform distribution of curd to block forming towers is crucial. Inconsistent curd distribution can result in variable product quality and inefficiencies in downstream processes.

Ensures even curd distribution

The Tetra Pak® Curd Distribution Tank (CDT) is designed for precise mixing and uniform distribution of curds to each block forming tower in cheddar cheese production. This system utilizes either air-blown or augured transportation from the draining/salting belt to ensure each block former receives an even amount of curd. One standout feature is the patented Q-seal, which provides a watertight connection between the cone and the shaft, protecting the drive mechanism and enabling a small footprint of approximately 1 m². Additionally, the paddle inside the tank continuously moves the curd around the central cone, ensuring even distribution. The level sensor ensures energy-efficient operation by only activating the filling sequence when there is sufficient curd, preventing cooling delays. This tank fits a variety of capacities to match upstream equipment, making it versatile for different production scales.

Benefits

  • Ensures consistent product quality
  • Saves energy with level sensor activation
  • Small footprint due to Q-seal technology
  • Minimizes drive maintenance
  • Versatile capacity options
