The CryoRoll for IQF foodstuffs by Dohmeyer is a rotary drum freezer designed for continuous freezing of free-rolling products. The system features a sloping cylindrical drum that rotates around its axis, allowing both product and cooling medium to be loaded continuously. The rotation ensures intensive mixing and prevents clumping. Special paddles can also be installed for enhanced mixing. Both liquid nitrogen (LIN) and liquid carbon dioxide (LCO2) can be used as cooling agents. Equipped with exhaust fans at the inlet and outlet, it extracts residual gases efficiently. This model is ideal for small, separate pieces such as granules, crumbs, and cubes of fish, meat, pasta, and vegetables. For sticky products, a non-adhesive coating like PTFE can be applied to the drum’s interior. Additionally, the unique double drum design allows the first drum to surface-freeze the product quickly while the second drum ensures deep freezing. Customizable features include inclination, rotating speed, and baffles, making it adaptable to various production requirements.
