Vacuum dryer cabinet for heat-sensitive products

In the food and pharmaceutical industries, drying heat-sensitive products like herbs, vegetables, and herbal extracts can be challenging. Maintaining product integrity while avoiding oxidation and contamination requires advanced drying technologies.

Automates drying with vacuum technology

The DryCab vacuum dryer cabinet by Bucher Unipektin is designed to dry and process various heat-sensitive products. Utilizing both freeze-drying (lyophilisation) and vacuum drying techniques, it handles materials such as coffee, herbs, vegetables, herbal extracts, and meat pieces. The cabinet can also function as an autoclave for sterilization. Its automated operation includes a profile-controlled process, ensuring efficiencies and consistent results. Key features include a GMP hygiene design for pharmaceutical applications, a strong and durable structure, high performance, and very high availability. The system operates at a vacuum range of 0.5 – 100 mbar and can achieve temperatures up to 200°C. It accommodates batch capacities from 1 kg to 1,000 kg and employs heating methods such as steam, pressurized water, or thermal oil. It is equipped with an automatic 3-step cleaning-in-place (CIP) system and controlled via a PLC and HMI with recipe control.
