Spray cooler for food and chemical industry applications
Producing fine powders from melts in the food and chemical industries often demands precise control over particle size and efficient cooling. The challenge lies in ensuring uniformity and achieving specific particle sizes up to 500 microns, while managing cooling efficiency for diverse materials such as oils, glycerines, and waxes.

Control particle size with efficient cooling technology
The GEA Spray Cooler is designed to produce melts and encapsulations in powder form, accommodating highly specific particle size requirements. This technology is essential for creating fine powders of up to 500 microns. Utilized in the food and chemical industries, it processes products including essential oils, carotenoids, and sterols. The spray cooling involves atomizing a melt and cooling it down in an airstream using Rotary Atomizers, high-pressure nozzles, or fountain nozzles. Cooling is managed through a specially designed air distributor. For products needing extra cooling or generating heat during crystallization, the VIBRO-FLUIDIZERâ„¢ Fluid Bed offers additional cooling. For coarse particles up to 2000 microns, the Fluidized Spray Cooler uses a low-speed Rotary Atomizer with a prilling wheel in a large spray cooling chamber.
