Skid-mounted yeast propagation system for craft breweries

Enhance your brewing capabilities with a versatile propagation system, designed to optimize yeast cultivation for various fermented beverages and enable consistent production of distinct beer flavors, without the need for separate yeast storage tanks.

Propagates and Aerates Yeast for Fermentation

The GEA Craft Yeast Propagator is a skid-mounted system designed for craft and small to medium-sized breweries, enhancing the yeast propagation process to meet specific brewing requirements. It features a pre-engineered modular design for easy transportation and setup, which complements GEA’s CRAFT-STAR® and COMPACT-STAR® brewing systems. The system supports batch sizes from 5 to 25 hl, offering customizable options such as living cell measurement, load cells, and an internal clean-in-place (CIP) system for efficient cleaning.

Integrating semi-automated control, it allows brewmasters to experiment while maintaining consistency across brews. The propagation system includes an internal aeration mechanism with a sterile air measuring unit, eliminating the need for a stirrer, which optimizes the growth environment for yeast cultures used in producing hazy IPAs, saisons, kettle sours, and more. Energy-efficient operations are achieved through streamlined processes like storage and sterilization, catering to the demands of fermentation in craft beers and beverages.

Benefits

  • Facilitates easy transport and setup with a modular skid-mounted design.
  • Increases operational flexibility, allowing brewmasters to experiment and innovate.
  • Reduces equipment footprint by storing yeast within the system, eliminating the need for additional tanks.
  • Saves time and ensures hygiene with an optional internal clean-in-place system.
  • Boosts fermentation efficiency through precise, sterile aeration without a mechanical stirrer.
