Nut roasting process with halved energy consumption

In commercial nut roasting operations, high energy consumption and maintaining consistent roasting quality are significant challenges. Efficient heating methods and seamless integration with pasteurization processes are essential to optimize production and reduce costs.

Achieve optimal roasting with reduced energy usage

The Roast Finish® process by Napasol enables nut roasting in a bulk load using a single bin. This process significantly reduces energy consumption by utilizing saturated steam in the pasteurization phase, which preheats the nuts to up to 120°C. Once the nuts are transferred to the Roast Finish® module, they quickly reach roasting temperatures of 130°C to 180°C with minimal additional energy. The nuts remain in the bin throughout the process, preventing mechanical damage and waste while allowing for precise control over roasting color, flavor, and texture. This system is suitable for various nuts, including macadamias, pistachios, hazelnuts, and almonds, and can handle different nut sizes from whole pieces to nut meal. The Napasol technology is widely used for nuts, seeds, herbs, spices, and other low moisture foods, providing both retail and industrial market solutions.
