Industrial coffee extraction system for high yields
In the coffee processing industry, achieving high extraction yields while preserving the delicate flavors and aromas of coffee beans is a significant challenge. This requires optimal control over extraction times and temperatures, as well as ensuring precision and consistency in the process.

Efficient and precise coffee extraction
The FIC® and CARINE extractors by GEA are advanced systems designed for industrial coffee extraction. The FIC® extractor facilitates fast, turbulent water flow around coffee particles, enhancing the extraction rate and quality at the desired temperature. This fully automated system incorporates eight percolator vessels in a flowing battery design, offering three distinct modes of operation to accommodate varying coffee types and requirements. With a process capacity of 125–1500 kg/h, the FIC® excels in delivering high yields of up to 53%, significantly faster than conventional methods. In contrast, the CARINE extractor operates at higher temperatures (185–195 °C) with 10 percolator columns, achieving maximum yields of approximately 60%. The CARINE system can also switch to FIC® mode for flexibility, depending on the desired end product quality. Both systems are integrated with a PC/PLC system for easy operation and ensure uniform extract quality. GEA’s extensive experience in coffee processing ensures that the FIC® and CARINE extractors deliver reliable, high-performance results.
