In vitro chewing gum release tester

In the pharmaceutical and food industries, evaluating the release rates of active substances from chewing gums is essential for product development and quality control. These analyses are critical for ensuring efficacy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Test release rates in chewing gums effectively.

The ERWEKA DRT is a specialized solution for measuring the in vitro release of substances from chewing gums into a surrounding liquid medium. It simulates the mastication process using vertical strokes and revolving movements of its lower and upper jaws. The tester also features a modular design, allowing up to six test stations to operate simultaneously. The water circulation system ensures precise temperature control within the test cell, while the double-walled glass construction allows for easy visual inspection. Simple manual sampling and cleaning are facilitated by lowering the lower jaw, which allows for easy removal of the test cell and jaws. An optional HPJ or HPJ+C feature permits continued mastication after the initial test, extending the device’s flexibility for varied testing scenarios. Manufactured by ERWEKA GmbH, this tester is ideal for applications in the pharmaceutical and confectionery industries.
