Helicoid heat exchanger for grape mash and fruit pulp

In the beverage industry, controlling the temperature of grape mash, fruit pulp, and other products with suspended solids is crucial to prevent premature fermentation and ensure quality. Traditional methods often fall short due to inefficiencies and uneven heating or cooling, especially for materials with high solid content.

Efficiently heat or cool products with solids

The Cadalpe C 24 Helicoid heat exchanger is a highly efficient system designed to manage the temperature of grape mash, fruit pulp, and other products containing solids up to 25-30%. The system utilizes counterflowing cooling or heating fluids and features two concentric stainless steel pipes with a special corrugated profile. This design achieves a high heat exchange coefficient, significantly reducing the necessary exchange surface area compared to conventional smooth pipe heat exchangers. Made entirely of AISI 304 stainless steel, it can also be supplied with effective insulation by injected expanded polyurethane and a stainless steel cover for additional efficiency. Ideal for applications such as the in-line chilling of white grape mash at 15°C to prevent fermentation before pressing, and the instantaneous chilling of black grape mash at 25°C. It also offers fermentation control of black grape mash via by-pass circulation.
