Bar screens for wastewater treatment

In municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants, the need for effective coarse screening of solids to ensure smooth downstream processes is critical. Traditional methods often struggle with maintenance and handling deep channels.

Efficient coarse screening in deep channels

The GVB-series Sub-Vertical Mechanical Bar Screens, manufactured by WAMGROUP, are designed for coarse screening within both municipal and industrial wastewater plants. These systems can operate in very deep channels while maintaining low maintenance costs due to their robust construction and simplified components. The GVB screens use chain-driven rakes that clean the bars and convey captured solids to a discharge point, which can then be removed by a dumpster, conveyor, or compactor. This equipment features precision laser-cut raking tines from single stainless steel bars and recessed guide channels for drive chains, reducing maintenance requirements and exposure to screenings. With bar spacing between 12mm and 50mm, channel widths ranging from 400mm to 2,000mm, and an incline angle of 75 degrees, the GVB-series screens ensure quick and efficient removal of solids.

Benefits

  • Effective solids removal with 12mm ~ 50mm spacing
  • Suitable for installation in very deep channels
  • Low maintenance due to laser-cut raking tines and no lower sprocket
  • Reduced chain exposure with recessed guide channels
  • Versatile discharge options
