In an eyeshadow production line, compact eyeshadows are produced by grinding and mixing powders before compaction, whereas molded eyeshadows are made from waxes and oils mixed with pigments and then poured into molds. Instead, by mixing oils, gelling agents, elastomers, and pigments you can make a mousse eyeshadow.

The Hosokawa Micron high shear impact mixer 1 liter is a downsized Cyclomix lab model, with a working volume of typical 0.3 - 1 liters powder content, mainly used for cohesive powders. Using frequency control, any mixing process can be imitated on this small-scale mixer: from slow speed pre-blending to high-speed coating, agglomeration, and dispersion.
It is used in the adhesives, chemical, cosmetic, food, pharmaceutical, and plastics industries for emulsification, homogenization, particle size reduction, and dispersion in the batch process.

The MP 6 L Powder Blender from Multigel is a purpose-designed lab-scale solution for powder blending. Offering capacities up to 12 litres in a range of container types, the MP 6 L achieves perfect powder blend results for as little as 1 litre of compounds.

Blending containers are interchangeable and can be specified in a range of shapes including cylindrical, V, and Y styles to suit your needs perfectly. Container changeover is simple and quick and easily achieved by one operator.

V and Y containers are provided with double openings at the top, which makes cleaning and sanitizing much easier. End caps can be specified as stainless steel or FDA-approved material.

For compounds that may clump, containers can also be specified with internal vanes that are designed to break up lumps, even when used for small quantities of powder.

Control of blending parameters including rotation speed, duration and inversion period is achieved by simple-to-operate touchscreen linked to a Siemens PLC. Quick speed adjustment is also available via a rotary control without the need to interrupt the cycle.

The production of high-quality cosmetics powders requires perfect mixing and dispersal of elements such as pigments, pearls and binders into a base powder. Liquid cosmetics require complete homogenization to achieve the best results. Traditional high-shear mixing solutions can be slow to achieve results, and risk heat damage of the final product, lowering quality.
